Aspire Pro Dance Competition

About 2 Saturday's ago, my dance team and I had the opportunity to dance at the Aspire Pro Dance Competition here in St. George. I personally thought that it would be the most boring day ever, but when everyone started to show up for it, it got to be so funn, it turned into being one of the best days ever. We took 8 dances all together to the competition. We had K-2Nd grade -Jazz "Single Ladies" K-2Nd grade -Lyrical "An Angel" 3rd-5Th grade -Jazz "Fire Burning" 3rd-5Th grade Lyrical "Beautiful", 6Th-12Th grade -Jazz "Break Your Heart", 6Th-12Th grade -Military "The Bongo Song", All-Starz -Jazz "Hush Hush" and All-Starz -Lyrical "More Than Anyone" The awards were a little different than most competitions. Instead of awarding for 1st, 2Nd, 3rd, etc. they award you with little stick on Diamonds, Ruby's, Sapphire's, and Emerald gems that you take off the little card and you stick it in the little place they have made for them on your trophy right next to the song that you danced to.

  • A Diamond gem is ranged between 285-300

  • A Ruby gem is ranged between 274-284

  • A Sapphire gem is ranged between 265-274

  • And an Emerald gem is ranged between 264 and below.

In Competing categories with 2 or more dances, the top dance is recognised with a first place medal for the group.

  • "Single Ladies" got -Ruby

  • "An Angel" got -Ruby

  • "Fire Burning" got -Ruby and a 1st Place Medal

  • "Beautiful" got -Ruby and a 1st Place Medal

  • "Break Your Heart" got - Sapphire (we missed getting a ruby by 1 point)

  • "The Bongo Song" got -Diamond

  • "Hush Hush" got -Diamond and Teen Intermediate Overall High Point Award

  • "More Than Anyone" got-Ruby (We missed getting a diamond by 1 point)

Our crowd was really dead but there were so many people there, and so many dancers. But we still did pretty good. When the All-Starz came out the crowd was so dead, that our dance team who was all still there decided to cheer our hearts out for them. And just for that, all the screaming, the cheering, etc. because of us they got overall high point and a diamond. When they were done, (They all had me record it for them) they watched it, and said that they had never felt so much power and energy for that dance and any other dance in their whole lives.

We were all so proud. We were so proud of ourselves for getting our scores, that whoever wanted to go, we all went to Krave Frozen Yogurt after competition. We all had so much funn. It was one of the most proud moments of our lives. It was amazing :)

A Performance, A Party, & A Redneck Slip-n-Slide

This past weekend starting last Friday, my dance team and I had one of our last performances of the dance season. It was a Dixie State College, for the Dixie State College Dance Team (Otherwise known as "The Rebelettes") dance review. We performed all of our usual dances that we usually perform at ever performance. And then for the first time, the girls who are on Military (Not me) performed for the first time. They did awesome!
I was at my dads, so after it was over, we went back to his house, and waited up for my dads best friend and his family to come over, till we got a call saying that they were tired, so they just stayed at a hotel. So we all went to bed.

On Saturday, we all woke up, and got ready for the day, until we had to leave to go to my cousin Porter's 3rd birthday party at Sand Hollow.
So we left and when we got there, we hung out at my uncle Rich's aunt's camp trailer, at their camp site. Then we went out to the lake and hung out on the shore line, then we wanted to ride up to the top of the sand dunes, and went to the very top, and watched people race up and down the hill, until we went back and ate dinner back at the camp site (Which was delish). Then we ate cake and my aunt was laughing at me because I was eating a corer piece and a big thing of frosting that came off the cake. When it started getting
cold, we went home and sat around till my dad's friend and his family came over. (His wife Tresa, and his son's Skyler and Jadden). They stayed over, and the next morning, I came downstairs, and breakfast was ready. Then Kathy and I got ready, and went to church to see my new cousin Ryder get blessed. When we got home, we made lunch, and went out to sit on the porch. When the boys started to get bored, and hot of running around the backyard playing football, they decided they wanted to make a home made slip-n-slide. So Kathy and i went inside and got 4 black garbage bags, while Josh and my dad got the hose and the stakes to keep the bags held down. The boys went and changed,
while i got my camera. the boys had soo much
funn playing on it. Time flew by, and we all got ready to go home. What a great weekend!
